Jigfoot

Jigfoot play music for dancing. They approach traditional dance tunes with energy, inventiveness and, above all, swing. This is music that defies you to stay still, whether it’s at a dance or in a concert performance.

Their repertoire is mainly, although not exclusively, from southern English sources, especially their home county of Hampshire. They work closely with dancers Simon and Jo Harmer developing material based around their inspirational southern English step dancing.

Festival appearances include ceilidhs at Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Sidmouth Folk Week, Chippenham Folk Festival, Hastings Jack in the Green, Wimborne Minster Folk Festival, Bridport Folk Festival and Bunkfest.

As a concert band they have played at Chippenham Folk Festival, Whitby Folk Week and Sidmouth Folk Week, supported Faustus, Spiers & Boden and Andy Cutting, created the film short Welcome or Welcome Not and are part of Hither Side of the Hedge show.

Ceilidh series include SHOCC Dances, Oxfolk, RUFF Ceilidhs, White Horse Ceilidhs, Unicorn Ceilidhs, Red Fox Ceilidhs, Bristol Ceilidh, Twyford Ceilidhs, Bridport Ceilidhs, Ceilidh at the Halls and many public and private events.
